Bernadette Baker

Founder and Manager, Heart Strings Music

Bernadette came to Australia from Racine, Wisconsin (USA) back in 2005. Since then she has established herself as a highly sought after violinist and teacher in the greater Melbourne area. Bernadette's violin playing has been described as pure, beautiful and heartfelt. She strives for these qualities each and every time she performs.

Bernadette joined the Melbourne Opera Orchestra shortly after moving to Australia. She so enjoyed the gorgeous operatic melodies that she started creating arrangements for violin duo. This quickly evolved to include musical theatre and popular songs. The repertoire became substantial enough to present to the public via special events like weddings and celebrations. Therefore, in 2009, Operatic Strings was born. Bernadette changed the name to Heart Strings Music a few years later, and the rest is history!

These days, Bernadette stays busy with a full-time teaching job, Melbourne Opera performances, Salon Project (her chamber music group) performances, and Heart Strings Music events.
